How do i get mascara to not clump?

mascara
Ecko asked:

It doesn't matter what kind of mascara i get, all it does is clump together. Then i keep trying to get it non clumped when it's pretty much dry, wich makes it clumpier. It never works. And throughout the middle of the day it starts to look worse and worse.

Try using a toothpick to separate it first. Clumping is usually caused by old mascara. I recommend you go out to MAC, Sephora, or any other make-up store to get a brand new one that won't clump.

I have never found mascara that doesn't clump, at least a little bit. The trick is to use a lash and brow brush to help separate the lashes when they are wet. The tool looks like it has a comb on one side and a brush on the other. Use the comb to separate the lashes and the brush to groom your eyebrows.

I have really long eyelashes and I can't afford for my mascara to clump. So, my mother and I always wipe the brush onto a tissue before we use it. This leaves just enough to get some color; if it isn't bold enough for you just put on a second coat.

when you get a new tube of mascara, each time you go to put it on do NOT pump the applicator in and out of the tube - instead swirl it around - this will keep you from adding a bunch of air into the tube (which will cause mascara to dry out and clump up). That's my best tip.

Also, follow the application of mascara, immediately, with run through of an eyelash comb (part of any good eyebrow brush) through your lashes to help define and seperate your lashes - it will also help remove any clumps that may have occured.

okay. before you put it on, kinda comb ur eyelashes.
a mascara i would recomand would be teloscopic by l'oreal
it combs them while u put it on
but comb first! then follow with mascara.
((for best results teloscopic))
hope it helps!

put a little water in it! that usally works for me… also if you buy a double sided brow brush($1 at walmart) they have a little comb for your eyelashes that works wonders… you might wana try putting vasoline on your eyelashes before bed… this makes them look fuller and healthier…

when i wear mascara, it ALWAYS clumps! im sure your tired of it too right? well i was just trying things out one day, just seeing how it would work. (other than trying different brands) well one way you can do it is put the clumpy mascara on and grap a tissue, from your bathroom and gently slide it over your eye lashes to smear it on and take the clumps out. if that doesnt work try a Q-tip… Or you dont have to wear mascara, it makes some eye lashes fall out more… and its a pain.. but yeah.

Be sure you are using new, fresh mascara. Don't pump the wand in the bottle, it will get air in it and dry it out faster. You may also be using too much, and it clumps as it dries.

When I apply mine, I move the wand side to side a little on my lashes to smooth out clumps and get a more even coat.

Here's what you do… go to any beauty supply store and buy a pack of mascara wands. They usually come a bunch in a pack. We (make up artists) use them so that we don't have to use the same wand on every person. Well after you apply your mascara take one of the clean wands and run it through your lashes. It will take all of the excess mascara off and stay on the clean wand. This will take the clumps out.
