EnKoreMakeup asked:
Here's a quick tut on how to apply mascara to a friend, relative, or client. Remember, safety to others and yourself. So take some precautionary sanitary steps to avoid eye infections.

okay, i understand that being sanitary is good. but the whole getting disposable wands thing. The purpose of different mascaras and the diversity of them (volumizing, lengthening, no clumping) doesn't that all depend on the brush. usually each one i have has a different brush. so i dont' understand that.
I heard that you shouldn't put mascara on your bottom eyelashes, because it's not good for them?
I always get my disposable wands from sephora or department stores who just have them laying around.
i luv aboywearingmakeup! he's great!
great video, koren…once again! haha, i've been subscribed for awhile but i'm making it a personal ambition to watch every single video.
not only are all of your videos insanely informative but they stress the importance of healthy hygienic practices and that's one VERY crucial element of cosmetology that a lot of people forget about, overlook or just completely disregard.
hey Solo - my best advise is keep talking to them! That distracts them from thinking too much about the application process. Speed is also key - the faster you get the eyeliner or mascara done, the more relaxed a fidgety client will be. Also, make sure to make them aware that a certain procedure might tickle, or they will/might feel pressure, that way they know what to expect ahead of time. The less they think about it the calmer they are.
Hi Koren, great videos! I particularly liked this one because I love to give friends makeovers, but I have a problem with people who are not used to having another person work around their eyes and they start to blink or move their head uncontrollably, no matter how hard they try to stay still. Do you have tips on "how to put make-up on other people who are not used to it"?
and make sure you throw away the mascara after 3 months
=]
1. Bacteria in the air
2. Air makes the mascara sooner dry
Great tip Dashee!
Hey Koren, I just have one tip!

It is great to apply mascara first on the bottom lashes and after on the top. Why? Because when you do first top, then look up = the mascara transfer on the eyeshadows and that we really dont want…
yes I've subscribed him
and hillary, thanks for the tip! I subscribed after I saw a few videos ^^

Hi Koren,
make a video showing how to highlight the eyecolors with colored mascara !!!!
hey simplismile - look into using SHELAQ from Benefit - its multi use includes sealing your mascara. Simply use the included mascara wand and brush a coat on top of your mascara after it dries.
And dont forget panacea81. Shes amazzing.
I find her tuts more help then pursebuzz. >.>
Even xsparkage is more helpful then pursebuzz too.
Hi Koren
I was wondering how do you prevent the mascara from like smudging? Because with mine it seems to smudged after awhile, making me looked like I have a black eye or bad dark circles =( Please help!
OOPPSS I always pump my mascara!! :s:$
you and Pursebuzz are the two best makeup channels on youtube
I'm subscribing you now.
Thanks so much for this tutorial!
You can also use the excess on the top of the wand to get more volume apllyng it to each lash from the bottom part.
How much do I love you right now?! This has been my only issue when applying makeup to other people - you rock!
you're sooo welcome!
I did try this at work this weekend and it worked wonderfully. Thank you so much for the tip! I can't wait to share it with the other gals at work that also lack experience in applying mascara. Thank you!!!
hey Monica - not really, as I apply very gentle pressure. You dont want it to be uncomfortable for your friend/client. SO do it gently, if it smudges a little, nothing a blending brush can't fix.
