There are several disadvantages to having permanent eye lashes.
The procedure is very expensive.
Most insurance companies will not cover permanent eyelashes implants, because they are not implants that are needed as a result of health reasons. Additionally, as with any surgery, there are risks involved with permanent eyelashes implants. Although surgeons usually take precautions during surgery by using eye shields, risks increase if the surgeon is not cautious.
If permanent eyelashes sound like the right choice for you, then you will be sure to enjoy their long lasting and satisfying results. However, if you do not wish to take the risks associated with the permanent eyelashes surgery, there are plenty of other methods you can use to lengthen your lashes.

• They come with a high maintenance cost; $75 - $100 depending on what is required.
• You cannot use mascara on your eye lash extensions
• While it is possible to bathe, swim and shower with the artificial eyelashes, the eyelashes, as a general rule, can not be exposed to lotions, eye makeup remover or any substances which may deteriorate the integrity of the eyelash adhesive.

There are steps to enable you correct fake eyelashes that are longer or shorter than expected. If the ones you picked are too long, you should trim them so that they are just slightly shorter. It is wise not to trim too much off, because although you can easily trim more off, you can’t go back and restore length. In the event that the fake eyelashes you purchased are too wide, then you have to hold up the eyelashes to your eye and estimate how much to resize. Snip off surplus hair and place side by side again with your eyelashes. Repeat this for as many times as it takes to achieve the needed width. Eyelashes are usually too wide so it is not an absurd process to trim them.
